Tired, but happy!

Ahh, blog readers, I have so much to tell you since we last spent time together! My events in Charlotte went smoothly, and overall it was a grand success. I can't tell you $$ numbers yet, but I'm hoping those'll be ready to share soon. As with every new event, there were a few snafoos, but I think that I was able to maneuver through most of them relatively well.

I hate that all my pictures got downloaded to the work computer instead of the home computer, so I'll have to wait til tomorrow to get pictures to you. :(

I was SO grateful to get to see my family on Tuesday of the week in Charlotte. I always miss them, but it didn't really hit home as to how much I miss them until I was in their presence. (Love and kisses to you all!) The kids are growing up so fast!! Pictures of their adorableness to follow.

I was also really excited to get to see Clay on Saturday, and some friends from church popped in unexpectedly, too!

The long days of work ended with long nights out, and I believe I've made several good friends from among my coworkers. :) Pictures of the weekend outings to follow.

You would think that once my events were over, my life would slow down, but that is far from the truth. We've been working vigorously to finalize the events, all while trying to catch up on everything we missed for a week, and the things we put on the back burner prior to the event. Whew, I'm getting tired just thinking about it! My days were all thrown off this last week since we flew home on Monday only to go into work on Tuesday. I make it sound like I've been a mad woman, but I must say I wouldn't trade a minute of it. This is the kind of work I love - work that keeps me on my toes, constantly throws new people my way, and develops a product that is a very tangible one. I am a happy girl! Tired, but happy!!

I'm hoping it's that constant positive energy that made Mason (our warehouse manager and someone I work closely with) think of me when he saw this book at the bookstore.

He handed it to me in the Barnes and Noble bag on his way to the airplane, and when I looked at him with curiosity, he said, "I give people books, it's just my 'thing'." I peaked in the bag, smiled, said thank you and didn't open the bag again until I got home. I must say, it was a great gift. It's been very good so far. Perfect for me, and I can't wait to pass it on!

True confessions of a workaholic

At the end of this post though you may be thinking I really meant True Confessions of Shopaholic. :)

Last week I didn't make it home before 8:30 one night except Friday! My big events are Thursday and Friday of this coming week and I've been running around at work (literally) trying to make sure I get everything I need done before I leave for Charlotte on Tuesday morning at 5:45 AM (yes, again, laugh if you will). I would have blogged more this week, but honestly, when you've been looking at a computer for almost 12 hours straight, the last thing you want to do when you get home is turn the computer on. And the forecast for this weeks blogging isn't that good either, because the laptop I'll be taking is not my own, and it isn't equipped with internet. Who knows, maybe I'll try that text/blogging Amber told me about?! We'll see.

Believe it or not, 1 of the things on my to do list before I leave was shopping! I was in great need of a warmer temperature suit. I was very worried I wouldn't have any success, but look:

Success!! I found not one, but TWO suits, a 70% off CK dress that works with my suit jacket, a pair of jeans (much needed since I discover my flat shoes jeans are very unflattering from the bowling post), and my ...3rd pair of leopard print shoes (these are flats though! and they go with my suit!)

It was quite a successful day at the Leesburg Corner Outlets. That area of VA is absolutely beautiful and a refreshing break from the city terrain. However, you do have to pay for the greenery, as it cost me $10.30 in tolls, and that doesn't include the gas for the 70 mile roundtrip. Craziness!

At least I picked up a pack of the cheap cookies I've been craving for the trip.

It's official!

Oh readers... I'm so sorry I've neglected you all week. It's been quite a busy week for me, and I've honestly wanted to blog, but as the Annual Meeting draws nigh, my sleep is becoming more and more valuable. But I've missed you!

The pile of scholarship applications was just a hint of what was to come for the rest of this week. The next two days involved late nights at work and no gym time. (I feel a little like jello, and not in the wobbly, just-after-a-hard-workout way.) And on top of work stress, I had to deal with the DMV and my car tags this week as my SC plates expired yesterday. uhh.... what a hassle!

After a lot of fuss and praying, an overnighted passport, an accidental trip to the ghetto (and I do mean Gh-Etto), and 2 hours at the DMV, I am officially a DC resident. Yay! Oh, and single ladies... don't ever let anyone say you can't do manly car things on your own. I spent 20 minutes sitting on the ground trying to get that plate holder on the front of my car. What, what! :)

After a long week at work, I was delighted to spend the evening on Friday with Valerie and Britney (Climate Rally Connies) on the patio at Moe's eating a FREE burrito and chatting. It was a gorgeous night with great company!

This morning I headed in to work for just a bit then off to lunch and a day of shopping with Melissa. We loved this headband. And I do use "love" with sarcasm. :)

It's been a great weekend to cap off a busy, busy work week. I'm sure I'll need the relaxing weekend to gear up for next week as we prepare for Annual Meeting. Ahh, it's just around the corner!!

PS... I'm baking tomorrow!! Oh, and hopefully laying out so I no longer look like a ghost. ;)
